BBI Shop

We are in the beating heart of the South West. Bristol, Bath and Wells are just 30 minutes away.

We do have an industrial looking big grey exterior but we guarantee you will be delighted when you discover what’s inside. Surround yourself in books of all shapes and sizes, interests and persuasions. Enjoy fresh, locally sourced, homemade food prepared in The Full Stop Café and made to order come rain or shine and throughout winter the wood-burner is alight.

Actually it’s all rather decadent: relaxing with homemade fare beside a roaring fire with beautifully bound and illustrated tome...

Never judge a book(barn) by its cover!

We have thousands of beautiful and bargain books waiting for you! Browse our many shelves and fill your bookcase on a budget! It’s simple, every book on the shop floor costs just £1.
They are sorted into topical sections and we have a handy guide to help you find your way around. With such a vast array of subjects it’s up to you to delve in and treasure hunt… hopefully we’ll see you again in a few hours time.

There is a very special kind of joy in the serendipity of finding something you didn’t even know you were looking for.

The only problem is carrying them out of the door…

If you are looking for something extra special you can also peruse Darwin Rare Books; a handpicked selection of rare and collectable, old, hard to find or just fascinating and beautiful books.

We have computers in the Café so that you can search or browse all of the books online. They are located on the same site and we’ll pick them for you in minutes.
If computers are not your thing we’ll help you search, just speak to one of our friendly team.

  • There are rows upon rows of used books all at £1.
  • Darwin Rare Books is a handpicked selection of rare and collectable, old, hard to find or just fascinating and beautiful books out on display and waiting for you.
  • Children are more than welcome! We want them to enjoy our space to read and play. It’s not a library so you don’t need to worry about having fun and making a little noise.
  • We are wheelchair friendly too with disabled facilities.
  • Free wifi and plenty of free parking space
  • Well behaved pets, dogs and owners are welcome
  • If you enjoyed your visit leave a review on tripadvisor, Twitter  or Facebook
