We've all done it, reached the weekend before Christmas and realised that despite our very best efforts, we've forgotten someone. A gift for a distant uncle or a secret Santa present, a top-up gift for your mum or something small for your grandchildren; last minute gift shopping is as much a part of Christmas as The Pogues' Fairytale of New York.
We thought we'd help you out and put together a little guide of last minute gifts that you can pop in to store and grab from us this weekend. We've even got cards and wrapping paper, if you're on your way to see family and need it all wrapped up and ready.
Saturday 21st: 9am - 5pm
Sunday 22nd: 11am - 5pm
Monday 23rd: 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 24th (Christmas Eve): CLOSED
Wednesday 25th (Christmas Day): CLOSED
We're obviously going to fill up this list with books, mostly, as that's kind of what we do here (it's entirely what we do here), but we'll sprinkle in some other options too.
To start with, we've got a huge selection of brand new books, from crime fiction, to Children's activity books, to the biography of Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness. We've got it all. Here's a pick of our favourites to inspire you:

So that's it for our new book recommendations, and those are just our favourites. We've got hundreds more titles to choose from. Aside from our new books, we've also got beautiful vintage books, a room full of antiquarian books, and shelves and shelves of secondhand books. Plenty to choose from!
And if you just really, truly cannot be bothered to search around for the perfect book, why not pick up a National Book Token from our shop counter and let them choose for themselves? You can choose your design, choose the balance to add, and even have it put in a little envelope, ready to go. National Book Tokens are the gift that keeps on giving, a bookish debit card, and can be used in participating bookshops across the UK and Ireland.
While books are our thing, we've also got a selection of other gifts that might be just what you're looking for. What about a bunch of origami flowers? Some beautiful earrings? A new mug for the tea lover in your life? Our gift selection can be found at the front of our shop and boasts a selection of brilliant, unique products from local businesses.
If this post has just overwhelmed you with too many options, we suggest popping in for a visit, where our wonderful, helpful front desk team will be happy to point you in the right direction, lead you to that perfect present, and guide you on your way with a cheery "Merry Christmas!"
