Hello everyone from the BBI team.
We're unfortunately closed today, due to the weather conditions.
A snow day means one thing - an excuse to sit at home all day, under a duvet, and read until your eyes water. And then read some more.
So, we're sharing with you our recommended snow day reads, with hopes that you'll recommend some more for us.
Here's what the team are recommending:
The Neopagans: Friendship and Love in the Rupert Brooke Circle, by Paul Delany
Recommended by: William, Bookbarn director
"I must confess I am completely biased in reviewing this book by Paul Delany, because my grandparents have close to 6 inches of mention in the index. But that’s not the sole reason for recommending it: essentially Rupert Brooke and some of his set were proto-hippies discovering the joys of skinny dipping in Grantchester, near Cambridge and staying up all night discussing the meaning of art while juggling multiple relationships with both genders."
The Way Through the Woods, by Colin Dexter
Recommended by: Nick, CEO
Recommended by: Fenna, COO
"Recommending, after having it recommended to me by our H&S Officer, Jana."
The Artemis Fowl series, by Eoin Colfer
Recommended by: Lauren, customer care
"An inspiring fable about following your dreams."
Give us your recommendations for the perfect snow day reads!
All of the above books (and more!) are displayed on our staff picks table in the shop. You can also purchase them online with us.
