You'll remember from our blog post last week, that the café were finalists for Best Café/Tea Room in the 2018 Somerset Tourism Awards.

Last night The Full Stop Cafe team were given the accolade of a Silver award, and we are all incredibly pleased for them. 


The team had a wonderful evening, celebrating being nominated and excitedly waiting to hear the results...

Beki Leake manager of The Full Stop Café and Fenna Leake, CEO of Bookbarn International accepted the award from Granny Gothards ice cream and Phil de Glanville (former Rugby player for Bath and England). Tana Michelkova and Karen Bradley of the core The Full Stop Café team were present at the celebrations too.


We had excellent competition and were up against Spike Island Cafe in Bristol, who took Bronze, and The Almshouse Tea Shop in Axbridge, who walked away with Gold.

Giles Adams, Editor of What's on Somerset gave a tremendous opening speech at the start of the event which had the cafe gang in fits of giggles. He also took a moment to reflect on the struggles Salisbury have been through recently and encouraged everyone to make a little time to go and visit the historic English town and support their tourism industry after some really difficult times.

Phil de Glanville reminded everyone in his speech to be good sports and to say hello, have a drink and congratulate one another after the results were announced.

Without the hard work and high standards of the people I work alongside this would've been impossible to achieve. The opportunity to attend the evening and spend time talking with some of the other fantastic establishments was inspiring and has given us food for thought as to how we can continue improving and developing the experiences that we offer.  We look forward to sharing them with you.
