February's Children's book of the month was Davina Bell's All the Ways to be Smart, illustrated by Allison Colpoys.

Rating: 5/5.

General vibe: Big-hearted.

Would recommend?: We think this book is just lovely. Definitely recommend to all parents and little readers.

The book is a reminder for Children of all of the different ways in which they can achieve, and how to appreciate that in others.

"Smart is not just ticks and crosses,
smart is building boats from boxes.
Painting patterns, wheeling wagons, being mermaids, riding dragons..."

Like reading Dr Seuss, the rhyming couplets make reading fun and interesting, whilst also conveying a message to its readers.

Allison Colpoys' illustrations are gorgeous, all bright and endearing. They're also diverse, showing the young readers the importance of acceptance of others.

In general, All the Ways to be Smart is the perfect read for your little ones just finding their feet in reading and education, and starting to understand the different ways of learning, of communicating and of creating.
